Wooden Drascombes
John Watkinson
Peterboat 5 metre
However, John thought back to the development of the "Longboat" from
the "Lugger" and decided to design a "Peterboat 5 metre" for his own use,
an open boat that performed well and had the simplicity of a standing
lug rig for single handed sailing, but with the facility to carry on outboard
motor if the wind should drop.

The "Peterboat 5 metre" was a great boat, a natural progression
from the 4.5 metre version but giving a better sail and a bit more room
on board, just as with the "Lugger" and "Longboat". The second "Peterboat
5 metre" built was taken to Greece and the owner asked for it to be half
decked in similar fashion to the "Lugger".
